The Finnish Society of Chemical Engineers

Society was founded in 1970.

Mission

Society acts as a forum for people working on chemical engineering or chemical technology areas in industry or research organizations or studying chemical engineering at universities.

Happenings & activities

Society organizes two seminars: Chemical Engineering Seminar, which covers different issues, like legistlation (directives) and new safety requirements, affecting chemical technology development and deployment. Second seminar is Prosessikehityspäivä (Process Development Day), which focuses to issues being interesting for people working in chemical process industry. These happenings are held every second year.

Prize

Society has a post-graduate research prize, which aim is to make chemical engineering area more widely known and get positive publicity to research at chemical engineering area. Prize is awarded biannually. It will be awarded fifth time at autumm 2004.

The Finnish Society of Chemical Engineers

The English name is unofficial translation of the official, registered, bilingual name and is used to ease international communications. The full official name is Kemiallisteknillinen yhdistys - Kemisktekniska föreningen r.y., although it is usually shortened to Kemiallisteknillinen yhdistys and abbreviated as KTY.
